About Waves

… The third tune spawned from Billy’s stay at the beach. Unlike the other two, this song was presented to the band as a complete composition, albeit with mostly incomplete lyrics. The first verse, the “hook”… “I just smile when I think of you...” and the first line in the third verse offered a theme to build upon that (after several rewrites) came to be the wistful lyrics used for the final cut. Hopefully the song conveys both the magic of a beautiful day spent beside the ocean and the wonder and promise of being in love.
